Here at Industrial Brakes we reline every kind of brake imaginable, including a vast range of vintage & classic brakes. More commonly we see Bentley, Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Daimler, Alvis and Lagonda brake shoes. Recently we had the pleasure of relining a set of brake shoes belonging to this immaculate 1957 Volvo Sugga- a first for us. We just received a call from the proud owner, delighted with the performance our linings offer. He is now sending a few more sets for his other vehicles.
I want one!!
We thought we’d show you a couple of unusual projects our engineers are working on at the moment (when they’ve finished their cuppas!).
In the foreground in 2 halves is a brake band used in an undersea mining works. We will make 6 more bands to this sample, all on site here in Wolverhampton. These bands have woven brake linings 1″ (25.4mm) thick. This is thicker than the more regularly used brake linings which usually vary from 1/8″ (3.2mm) to 3/8″ (9.5mm).
Behind the brake band is a solid Wedge Ring, then Lining Wedges for use on machinery in the production of construction & building materials. These particular ones have been relined & ready for despatch.
Not your typical car or motorcycle brake shoes, these are both examples of the heavy duty industrial type of brake we specialise in.
It may be the time for factory shut down & summer holidays but here at Industrial Brakes we are open all year round. The summer is when we are at our busiest as it’s such a good time to carry out maintenance checks including getting all those machine brakes & clutches relined.
This summer has also been exceptionally busy for relining vintage & classic car & motorcycle brakes & clutches. A big thank you for all the mentions in club magazines from satisfied customers. Word of mouth really is the best form of advertising!
Of course the European harvest season is also around the corner but you can be assured that our stocks of tractor and trailer spares are unsurpassed!
Industrial Brakes exhibited for the first time at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern with lots of interest in their trailer spares.
